About Us

We’ve spent sixteen years working in tourism in Turkey, and nine years building Zeta Travel Montenegro here in Tivat. That’s twenty-five years of learning, mostly the hard way, what actually makes a trip good — and what only looks good in a brochure.

A Note from Deniz

I run the day-to-day of Zeta Travel, and this part of the site is mine to write honestly.

Deniz Gönenç, founder of Zeta Travel Montenegro and licensed tour guide

I know tourism from the inside. And I know Montenegro from the ground up.

I have been working in tourism since 2001, and over the years I have had the opportunity to experience almost every side of the industry — hotels, operations, MICE, VIP travel, destination management, individual travelers, corporate groups, international brands, suppliers, partners, and, most importantly, the guests themselves. Each role taught me something different. Together, they taught me how this business really works.

Today, as the founder of Zeta Travel, I use all of that experience to do something I truly enjoy: turning a client’s expectations into an experience that feels effortless. Because I know what happens behind the scenes, I also know where the details matter.

I know that luxury is not simply about choosing the most expensive hotel. It is about choosing the right hotel. The right room. The right table. The right boat. The right timing. The right person to welcome your guests. And sometimes, knowing what not to include.

After so many years in this industry, I have learned to understand what clients need — sometimes even before they know how to articulate it themselves.

Being a licensed tour guide in Montenegro has been an important part of that journey. Guiding gave me the opportunity to experience Montenegro not from behind a desk, but directly alongside the people who come here. It taught me how to communicate without a barrier, how to see a destination through a guest’s eyes, and — perhaps most importantly — how to connect with the people who make Montenegro what it is.

I hold Montenegro’s official national tour guide license — a certification earned locally, not something that can be shortcut. For several years, I was the only Turkish-speaking guide in the country to hold it.

Living and working here has also given me something that cannot simply be bought or researched online: real local connections. They help me find the right people, the right places, the right stories, and, often, the right solution when something unexpected happens.

I don’t consider my guiding background a separate profession from what I do today. It is one of the reasons I became a better DMC professional. But Zeta Travel is much more than guiding — today, my role is to bring together everything I have learned throughout my career and use it to create and manage private, luxury, corporate, incentive, and MICE experiences in Montenegro and across the Balkans with my team.

I believe a truly good DMC should not simply be a company that makes bookings. It should be a partner who understands your expectations, knows the destination intimately, and takes responsibility for every detail. That is the role I want Zeta Travel to play.

When you work with us, you are not simply sending your clients to Montenegro. You are putting them in the hands of someone who knows the destination, understands the business, and genuinely cares about how their experience feels.

We’ve earned that trust with names like DHL, Microsoft, Mercedes, and Shell — global brands who chose Zeta Travel for their meetings and incentive programs in Montenegro.

Montenegro is my home. Tourism is my profession. And creating exceptional experiences is what I love to do.

How We Actually Find the Good Places

Anyone can publish a list of “best restaurants” without setting foot in half of them. We can’t work that way, so we don’t.

None of this makes it into a brochure. It’s just the work behind the work.

Ask anyone who’s traveled with us, and they’ll probably mention the planning documents before they mention the trip itself. Day-by-day flows, timed almost to the minute, built for scenarios that may never happen — because if one of them does, we’re not improvising.

It’s a level of detail most people don’t expect from a travel plan. We’ve had guests joke that it looks more like a flight operations manual than an itinerary. That’s fine by us. The whole point of planning that carefully is so the day feels effortless to the person actually living it.

Never below four stars. Not as a marketing line — as a floor we don’t go under, on any booking, for any client.

The same person, start to finish. Whoever you speak to first is who sees the plan through. We don’t hand you off partway.

Respect for the place, not just the postcard. Montenegro is a place people live in, not just a backdrop. We try to travel — and to bring guests — accordingly.
