The Podgorica Airport winter schedule runs from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027. For groups travelling to Montenegro between November and March, Podgorica is the main gateway, and this winter its schedule looks different in a few important ways.
Belgrade: the most frequent connection
Belgrade remains Podgorica’s busiest link. Air Serbia and Air Montenegro together plan around 45 weekly flights between the two cities this winter. For many international groups, Belgrade is also the practical connection point to Montenegro in the off-season.
Istanbul: fewer flights this winter
Turkish Airlines is reducing its Istanbul–Podgorica service to ten weekly flights for the winter, down from its original plan. The change follows Montenegro’s new visa requirement for Turkish citizens from 1 November 2026. For groups from Türkiye, this means fewer daily options and less flexibility on dates, so flights should be secured early. See our article on the visa changes for details.
Wizz Air: 15 winter destinations
Wizz Air will keep 15 routes from Podgorica through the winter, compared with 24 in summer. Winter destinations include Barcelona, Basel, Budapest, Paris Beauvais, Baden-Baden, Catania, Cologne, Dortmund, Hamburg, Ljubljana, Maastricht, Malmö, Memmingen, Milan Malpensa and Rome Fiumicino.
Podgorica Airport winter planning for groups
- Use Podgorica as the winter entry point. With fewer flights at Tivat in winter, many coastal programmes start in Podgorica. Allow for road transfer time to the Bay of Kotor and the coast.
- Book flights before the programme is final. Reduced frequencies mean group seats can sell out on specific dates.
- Check schedules close to departure. Airlines often adjust winter timetables during the season.
We arrange airport transfers from both Podgorica and Tivat and can help match arrival times to your programme.
